Review

The Chaps - Dave, Rog, Tone and Chap duly met up in the recently refurbished Old Contemptibles between 3.00 and 4.15 for a few pre-match beers. The place certainly has changed since last visited and coupled with a splendid selection of ales is well worth a visit on future Chap sessions. After 1 to 4pints of various nectars had been supped it was time to move on to Après for the match.

The Chaps managed to get a table to settle down at (although Dave's first pint did mysteriously move up and down the bar, so much so he had to but an emergency half of Stella!). We made do with pitchers of Carling to keep the throats lubricated whilst watching England finally play like a team and not a bunch of posing superstars earning a thoroughly deserved 3 - 0 win. Gaz Barry was the star of the show finally (although by default - Fat Frank injured) getting a chance to show what us Villa fans have seen for years. After the match it was time to move on.

Not far to next door!!, as it was a nice sunny night we sat outside the Shakespeare to smoke the odd cigar and consume a couple of pints of Timmy Taylor's - whilst Phil joined the proceedings after watching the other England team, Tone departed home to look after Jo who had a wrist injury to contend with.

After a couple of ales, we headed back down to a rather full OC's - here Trev joined us to neck a few more rather tasty ales along with Phil and Chap tucking into a jug of olives. Rog departed around 10.30 leaving the four remaining chaps to drink until closing time and be the last to leave.
