Review
Sponge and Chap started with three jars of creamy Guinness in the Towers pub, however this was comfortably out done by Sgt. Major Simbers who had his 'Drinking with Ollie' session, which incorporated an impressive 14 pubs between the hours of 10.00am and 13.00pm. (sounds like an event to be added to the Chaps social calendar for 2001).
The match lived up to its usual expectations - the Villa score an early goal and then fail to finish it off (sounds familiar doesn't it !!!!!), although Dubbers kept up his rich scoring form (ho, ho, ho - seasonal joke !!!!). Chap will now register a protest on this page to Deadly Doug - Get your BLOODY CHEQUE BOOK OUT !!!!!!!!!!.
Enough of the footy - the Chaps including the elusive Mr. Syrup lobbed up town to Bacchus bar for the traditional after match Steak sarnie washed down with a few more ales, before venturing up Broad Street to the Aussie Bar. By this time we had been joined by Big Tone and Jellywise, and whilst the beer and Vodka ice was flowing the session carried on it's merry way with various songs being belted out by the Chap chorus.
Simbers manfully bailed out at about 9.00 pm after a fair old skinfull of ale for the day, Syrup and Tone sidled of about 10.30, followed by Sponge at 11.00pm.
Nige, Dave & Heggy went downstairs for a bop, whilst Chap supped the remaining beers.
At the last count, Dave & Heggy went for a ruby, whilst Chap settled for a Marcos kebab.
Note to Syrup - let us know if you had any gastric problems (barfs to you and me !!!!)>
