England Vs Germany Euro Championships - 17th June 2000
The Chaps descended on the Troc to watch the game, with most of us getting there at 4.00pm.
Copious quantities of ale were consumed, which helped the marvelous atmosphere despite the quality of the football. It had been 10 years since the chaps watched us lose to the krauts in the 1990 World cup semi, but just as things looked bleak, up popped Chopper ( or Shearer) to send the crowd into orgasmic oblivion.
Despite a tense half hour or so, the boys held on to provide a much needed tonic. The final whistle was the prompt for mass beer drinking, congaring (if there is such a word, but it describes the activity quite well !!!!!!) and general debauchery.
The Chaps departed for a celebratory curry at Shah's restaurant.
The next session was to be on Saturday for the quarter final against Italy, but a the time of writing alas England are no more.
Roll on the Premiership.
