Meet in the Old Royal around 5.30pm
7.30pm - wherever the Jelly/Tory combination take us!!!
Slight change to the plan for Simber's, Phil and Chap with Simber's acquiring tickets for the Villa vs. Inter Milan match. Simber's and Chap met up in the OR at 1.00pm to neck a swift 3 pints with Simber's indulging in an extra large portion of sausage and mash which returned later in the guise of 'mustard gas!!'. We met up with Phil and Big Dave outside the ground and watched a rather entertaining match, with Villa despatching the Italian champions by a healthy 3-0 score line - here's hoping to a repeat of this score-line next week.
Arriving back at the OR around 5.30pm, Simber's, Chap and big Dave were greeted by Rog, Ian and Ted who had made an appearance to put the other WATN members to shame (if they still read this!!). Phil had returned home to wax his bikini-line before returning later to the proceedings. We were joined by Nige, Tone, Louise, Dave and Trev, to consume plenty of ale and discuss various topics including forth coming footy season and the 'Panda-pop' tales of mountaineering in Keswick. The early evening was interspersed by a Simbers musical extravaganza - the Trumpet voluntary sponsored by Walls!!. After several beers we headed of to find a seat outside since the weather was nice for a change.
The Shakespeare was the next port of call with the Chaps sitting out the front until 9.30pm (they were only licensed until then), again drinking plenty of ale and having the odd cigar. More mirth and merriment was had until the departure times started to arrive - Ted left about 10.00 to get the train to Derby with the chaps threatening an excursion to Ted's castle, followed by Ian, Simbers and Rog around 11.00. Phil, Dave, Nige, Louise and Turbo-tonsils Trev headed off to the A & B after TTT had claimed, rather foolishly that he could drink Chap under the table!!, leaving Tone & Chap to lob in a taxis home via the kebab shop.
