Oktoberfest 2009 - 17.10.09

Plan for the day

Meet in the Old Contemptibles around 3.30pm - Villa playing Chelsea at 12.30pm hence the earlier start

7.30pm - onwards Open to suggestions

Review

The day started with an excellent performance by the Villa beating Chelsea 2-1. Despite being a goal down (big Brad being a fault from Diveba's speculative shot from 35 yards), goals from Dunne and Collins rectified the situation to send the Chaps to the pub a happy bunch.

Simbers and Chap duly arrived at the OC's at 3.300pm, tucking into Gammon, Egg & Chips and Steak and ale pie washed down with various brews whilst waiting for the others to join us. Tone and his brother Steve arrived shortly after, soon to be followed by Ian and Phil. Plenty of beers were consumed interspersed with half-pints of scratchings, olives and chilli puffs to keep the snacking chaps happy. The usual topics of conversation were had regarding the day's footy results, the usual soap-watch for some reason, and one of Phil's favourites 'Discovery Shed!!'. We were later joined by Steve of the 'Thursday night drinking club' and Dave and Louise who are now officially a couple (as if we did not know already). Ian did mention something about bringing other halves out on chap sessions and yellow cards to be issued, but we'll leave that for another day!.

We all got to settled in the OC's and time flew by so we ended up staying there until leaving time ish., apart from Phil & Steve who wandered round various places in town until the we small hours - Phil getting home around 4.00am!
