Meet in the Old Royal around 6.00pm
7.30pm - then a slow spiral out of control !!!!!!
The Chaps duly assembled in the OR for several beers for Phil's 30 something birthday bash. A new face, Alan & a couple of old faces from the past Dean & Jaz joined the motley crew of Dave, Simbers, Tone, Nige, Phil, Steve and his niece Claire for the festivities. After a few sherbets it was time to lob off to somewhere new and Phil once again decided on the Island.
The Island at least had a few more people in it this time, but it was not exactly rocking & the beer choice is a bit limited. The Chaps set themselves up around a large table in the middle of the bar whilst quothing a swift pint or two. Trevor and his missus also arrived to join the party. With Deano departing to meet his missus down the Nightingale, it was time to move on to an alternative drinking den.
Next port of call was the Sunflower Lounge - again a bit of a strange place with limited beer choice but it is always rammed full with a variety of characters judging by Steve's little and large impressions and Phil's 'David Cameron's Hug-a-hoodie' impression.
The final destination was the Old Fox in Hurst street - a far better beer selection and it's also open until 2.00am in the morning. This could possibly account for Nige's drunken haze leading to the inevitable spillage. We stayed in here until the end of the night, various chaps Tone, Alan, & Simbers departing throughout the beer extravaganza. The place livened back-up again around 12.30 with an influx of 'yammers' waiting for the coach to pick them up from a night out at the Glee club enabling Phil to make a new best friend - 'Orkid!!!'.
Leaving the Fox, Dave, Chap, Clare and Steve headed off to Shah's for a ruby, leaving Phil to head off to the Nightingale in search of Deano and maybe a bit of 'Bio-chemist' action????. The ruby was it's usual high standard enlightened by Steve ordering two bottles of Pinot Grigo and only drinking one and trying to instigate a 'Chaps pert bottom' contest with Claire being the judge.
A good time was had by all.
