Back to the traditional home of watching footy at Simber's
Meet at Snow Hill - 12.15pm to catch the train
Lob down the Railway for pie & pint before the match
4.00pm KO for the footy
Back up town in the Old Contemptibles around 7.00pm - discuss Phil's 'Dump the Wife' plan of action!!!
Chap and Tone met up at Snow Hill and proceeded to lob down to Sim's. We were greeted at Dorridge Station by Ian's Taxi service to spirit us up to Simber's and then on down to the Railway. Rog joined the four chaps shortly after and we settled down to the usual fine grub and ale that the Railway provides. (PS Dave the text message about the sun shining was all lies!!).
After 4 pints we lobbed back to Sims to watch the footy. The game was nothing out of the ordinary with England being fairly convincing winners 4-0 to ease their way towards South Africa next year. Time to head for town, minus Ian for the rest of the evening.
First port of call was the O.C's. A bit of grub was ordered, Sim and Rog sharing a sausage surprise (oo-er missus) and chap having the customary pork-pie and ale chutney whilst consuming a few beers. A bit of excitement was also head when a fight broke out at the top end of the pub. The guy who started it all later came back for seconds until the cops became involved.
Edmunds was next on the list for the four chaps as no-one else had turned up (Nige was probably bladdered from his earlier rugby watching session). Again more ale was supped whilst trying to com up with suitable suggestions for Phil's 'dump the wife' challenge. Again not being the most decisive a chaps no decision was arrived at (Rog's van looks favourite), so the next port of call was suggested.
Last pub was the Wellington (not Dave's favourite haunt, but heh he was not out!). A couple of jars of real ale to wash down the scratchings before the chaps departed on their merry ways home.
