Meet in the Old Royal, for the early birds who want to catch some of the cricket 4.00pm. Look to move on around 7.30pm
Since the cricket was a bit slow and no decent footy was on the telly the Chaps assembled in the Old Royal from around 5.00pm. Tone, Chap, Nige, Steve, Simbers, Dave and Phil started off proceedings with a few beers to celebrate the start of the new footy season with Villa getting a hard earned draw at the Arse in MON's first game.
Leaving the OR we headed off to Utopia (formerly the Cathedral Tavern), Phil's idea as he said it had been 'rocking' on his previous visit. As can be seen from the piccies the only thing that was rocking was the Chaps to sleep!, However, there was some amusement to be had when Phil got a call about a relative who was in labour having failed the 4th pessary!. This prompted a discussion amongst the chaps as to the difference between a pessary and a suppository. Steve then came up with an immortal chat up line to the barmaid - 'Your a woman you know about thrush' with regard to this discussion. Steve finally had to admit he was wrong when Fran confirmed that on this occasion Chap was in fact correct.(pessary up the front, suppository up the rear for future reference!!)
After only one beer in Utopia, we headed off to Apres. Here we had an expensive beer whilst Steve revisited former Sam Weller's glories of 'bum photography' and Phil ripped off the 'Polish yer knob? sir' bloke in the toilets, before leaving for the Shakespeare.
The Shakespeare provide far better value for money in terms of cost and also quality of ale, so we stopped for a few in here as well as Chap indulging in a Pork scratching frenzy, Tone bailed out at this point.
The Chaps then headed off to the Actress and Bishop. For some reason we split into two groups and took different routes to the A & B. Steve and Phil decided to have a race to see if they could beat the other Chaps there and this subsequently ended in disaster with Steve going arse over bollocks - with the following results. A few more beers were consumed at the A & B and after Steve and Simbers had left for home, Dave, Nige & Chap lobbed of to Shah's for the obligatory curry whilst Phil went in search of the 23rd Birthday shag.
