- France v England rugby at 8pm.
Chap and Tone arrived at the same time to find Steve already supping a beer. Quickly seated and beer in hand we watched the Ireland v Scotland game as well as keeping a depressing eye on the Villa. Phil turned up for his first half scenario as he was off to watch a concert at 6.30. Ian arrived around shortly followed by Simbers, another cock-up on the DD's logistics skills.
Beers in hand (and not badly priced) we settled in for a bit of chat about DTW 13 in Cornwall and the need for some technical resource as it's the Ryder up weekend. There was also a discussion of drug taking in tennis, with Chap and Ian defending Maria Sharipova against some of the more cynical chaps Tone & Sim who would have her shot!!. I know which I'd prefer.
Ireland v Scotland over and another defeat for the Villa left us looking forward to the France England game. Phil had buggered off to his concert but vowed to be back later, leaving the remaining chaps to roar the lions on. A useful but not out of sight half time land was gained and set the match up for a useful 2nd half. Phil returned for the second half and a few beers in time to see England aim for glory which was hard won despite the best efforts of Taffy the ref.
This lead to a couple more beers in celebration before everyone departed for home. Phil and Chap got thirsty after the walk to town and headed for the pub. Vague memories of trying the Nosh & Quaff but the beer prices were silly so we headed next door to the Purecraft Bar & Kitchen for a final ale. Chap lobbed in a taxi home leaving Phil to head for the Casino.
