Meet in the Corner House (the Old Hogs Head - Newhall St.) around 4.30pm - decide where to watch the footy if not on there - k.o 17.15pm
For those coming up later have your mobile at hand as were not sure where we'll end up watching the match.
Chap arrived at the Corner House around 4.15pm to find that the Sky box was playing up and all the draft beers had gone. Dave arrived not long after so we set off in search of a pub that would have the game on. After trying the Shakespeare, we ended up in Apres which has a few large screens. Here we settled down to watch the match with a few cold Carlings (as the draft beer is bollox in this place) and were joined by Ian and his mate Geoff who had shipped his wife off on holiday for the week and had come out for a few beers. The game started well for Villa with us bossing the first half, but being unable to take advantage of this. Watford came into it in the second half and it ended 0-0 which was probably a fair result. Once the game had finished it was time to head off in search of some decent beer.
We went back to the Shakespeare which had Spitfire, M & B and Black Sheep on for the real ale boys and were joined by Phil during this time. I seem to remember a bag of pork scratching also entered proceedings!!, whilst supping a few beers in the beer garden. After cleansing the Carling out of the system with some decent ale, the chaps decided to head for pastures new.
As has become a regular haunt the Actress and Bishop became the next and as it proved last place of call. Here a few more beers were supped as well as a bit of totty spotting being indulged in. Ian was first to bail at around 11.15pm to head for the last train home, followed by Chap and Geoff who lobbed off to the taxi rank in Colmore Row around 12.30pm. Dave and Phil weren't far behind with the chaps unusually flagging somewhat and not making it for a ruby.
